Plasma Processes Acquires Metaltech Machine & Tool

HUNTSVILLE, AL – Plasma Processes, a provider of ultra-high temperature materials, coatings, rocket nozzles and propulsion systems for the hypersonic, space and aeroengine sectors, announced that it has acquired Metaltech Machine & Tool. Based in Scottsboro, Alabama, Metaltech is a wire EDM-focused machine shop that has supported its customers’ metal finishing needs for 27 years. “We are delighted to add Metaltech to the Plasma Processes’ family,” said Tim McKechnie, President of Plasma Processes. “This acquisition enables Plasma Processes to better support our customers’ needs by providing greater value as a tiered supplier. Plasma Processes can now provide a more end-to-end solution, becoming a one-stop shop in metalworking and post processing.”

“We are very excited to join the Plasma Processes team,” says Metaltech Machine & Tool founder Roger Dobbins. “I look forward to the future growth of Metaltech operations through the support of Plasma Processes’ organization.”

Mitch Ulman, Vice President at Blue Sea Capital, added, “Since we partnered together, Plasma Processes’ unique capabilities have been increasingly sought after by customers. We are very pleased to bring Metaltech into the Plasma Processes platform, expanding our capability set and positioning the Company for continued growth in the years ahead.”
